It all started with a dream
Manjit Singh, also known as Manu, moved from India to Finland in 1982. In Helsinki, he studied at the university, worked as a kitchen assistant, and cleaned in the evenings. Five years later, he was ready to establish his own business – a music pub in Pukinmäki, marking the first chapter of his restaurant dynasty’s story.
Through the economic downturn in Finland and beyond, Manu and his family opened new music pubs, restaurants, and nightclubs, such as the iconic Fever, Lady Moon, and Milliklubi, which have left a significant mark on Helsinki’s urban culture.
Operating under the name Suomen Viihderavintolat Oy, this family business has provided Finnish people with memorable experiences for four decades. Reflecting on his long career, Manu says, “We’ve done pretty well. As a patriotic person, I am proud that we have done our part for this country.”
Under the new name, Arden Restaurants, operations continue in the same spirit: boldly following our own style and strategy. With customers more in focus than ever, the next generation is steering Arden Restaurants forward – towards new dreams.
